Dawn Marie Brown passed away peacefully at the age of 60 years old on January 6th, 2023, in Voorhees, N.J. She is preceded in death by her father, Raymond D. Brown, paternal grandparents, Raymond Brown and Helen Brown (Hoholik) and maternal grandparents, Peter Razzano, and Cesira Razzano (Beletti). She is survived by her loving daughter, Kendra Tan (Schaefer), son-in-law, Ruem Tan, mother, Catherine E. Brown (Razzano), sister, Kimberley Milligan (Brown), and many more extended family, cousins and friends.

Dawn was born in Paterson, New Jersey. She thrived academically, and graduated from Manchester Regional High School. She then attended Ramapo College, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Communications. After marrying, and starting a family, she spent a majority of her life living at the Delaware shore. It was there, that she built a career in the hotel hospitality industry, conducting sales and marketing, which she loved. However, a day at the beach with her daughter was her idea of perfection.

Dawn was a thoughtful, strong, and loving person. She enjoyed music of all genres, anything chocolate, football, shopping, and animals, especially her beloved Luna. Her daily positive attitude, despite battling a chronic illness, inspired her hospice team and loved ones.

Services will be held privately in her memory. In lieu of flowers, we ask that if anyone would like to make a donation in her honor, please do so online at www.samaritannj.org, or by mail at the following address:

Dawn made an amazing contribution to the world. Her insights, thoughtful contemplations, and humility made her unique in a day and age when so many are focused on the superficial. She was intelligent and finally found her true voice. I am a better person for having had the pleasure of knowing her. Her love for her daughter was her driving force. Dawn was an inspiration to me with her strength, courage and relentless positivity and sarcastic wit, even in the hardest of times. I will never forget Dawn. It was an absolute privilege to know her. Fly free my friend. You deserve all the eternal beach days, chocolate chip cookies puppies and eternal peace.
